Great American Ball Park Information
After an official opening in 2003, Great American Ball Park became the new home for baseball's first professional franchise, the Cincinnati Reds. Located in downtown Cincinnati, Great American Ballpark possesses a combination of innovative features, beautiful views and plenty of seating options with a capacity of more than 42,000 spectators. In addition, it pays tribute to the rich Reds history with the addition of Crosley Terrace statues, marble mosaics, famous date banners and many other touches that make this park a must-see.
Fans can purchase message lines for $35.00 on the team scoreboard, including special events and birthday packages. The marketing department handles all special requests, which fans can access by calling 513-765-7100. Fans can also request a free pocket schedule by calling the marketing department. Great American Ballpark recognizes fans who wish to seek autographs from their favorite players. Time and regulations permitting, Reds players signed autographs before each game. Autograph opportunities are not guaranteed, but guests are asked to gather along the railing between sections 111-113 and 133-135 up to 45 minutes prior to game time, or until the end of batting practice. For fans who cannot be there in person, autograph requests can be mailed to: Manager, Player or Coach's Name, c/o Cincinnati Reds, Great American Ball Park 100 Main Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
Great American Ballpark features a Fan Zone, which was constructed on the site of the former Riverfront Stadium. This specialty area was concluded during the second and final phase of the ballpark's construction. The Fan Zone offers interactive baseball-themed games for children, a large concession stand, a picnic area, rose garden and more.
Another highlight inside Great American Ballpark is the Batter's Eye Pavilion. This center field facility features a glass-enclosed, climate controlled area with non-reflective glass that doubles as the batter's eye. The Diamond Club, another climate controlled area is open during and after game time exclusively to Diamond Club members. Seats, which are located directly behind home plate, allow many seat holders to be closer to the batter's box than the game's pitcher. For fans who like to revisit the past, the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum is located on Main Street at the west side of Great American Ballpark. Opening to the public in 2004, the museum was designed to honor the home of professional baseball. Covering the Reds from the beginning, the facility is rich with memorabilia and artifacts. Over 16,000 square feet and two floors make up the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum, which is open year round. For fans who just can't get close enough to the action, Great American Ballpark tours are scheduled regularly. These will give fans the opportunity to have an up close and personal look behind the scenes and find out what goes into making a baseball game come together.
